With Nativo®, quality is non-negotiable

Protecting your crops with the right crop protection products from the start, will have a remarkable effect on the outputs delivered at the end of the season. That is why we back you with quality fungicides to give you peace of mind that your crops are protected from pests and diseases.

Nativo is a systemic suspension concentrate fungicide containing the active ingredients Tebuconazole (triazole) 200 g/l and Trifloxystrobin (strobilurin) 100 g/l. These active ingredients allow for two tried and tested modes of action with excellent protective and curative activity due to Tebuconazole and protective action due to Trifloxystrobin. These two modes of action offer excellent broad-spectrum disease control to allow for optimum yield and a quality advantage. Its flexibility in application time also makes Nativo a popular choice by agricultural producers across the country. The characteristics of the respective active ingredients in Nativo also allows for the inhibition of spore germination, sporulation reduction, the inhibition of mycelial growth, fungus penetration and the reduction of early infection activity.

Nativo is known for its unique mesostemic mode of action which can be best described by the three P’s of mesostemic power, namely persistence, protection, and prevention. Mesostemic fungicides such as Nativo, are strongly attracted to the leaf surface of the plant it has been applied to by providing a barrier against disease infection. The fungicide shows high affinity with the waxy layer of the plant which allows for good rain fastness and long residual control. It is also redistributed on the plant surface by means of a vapour movement and surface water. Through translaminar activity, small amounts of the fungicide move from one side of the leaf to the untreated side, providing protection against infection on both leaf surfaces. Nativo prevents spore germination which means that the disease will not penetrate the soil. This prevents the plant tissue from being damaged and the plant employing all its energy resources to fight the disease.

The application of Nativo is dependent on the risk level posed by various factors such as the type of hybrid planted, the climatic conditions as well as the area in which the hybrid is planted.

In conditions where the disease risk is low due to the high tolerance of the hybrid planted, the favourable climatic conditions that are not conducive to disease development, dry land areas as well as areas in which conventional tillage takes place, the recommended spray programme is as follows: Nativo at 1 000 mℓ / ha applied early (4 - 6 leave stage). If the disease symptoms appear later in the season, apply Nativo at 1 000 mℓ / ha or Zantara® at 1 200 mℓ / ha as a follow-up application.

Should a hybrid with lower disease tolerance levels be planted and the climatic conditions are conducive to disease development, it is considered a medium level disease risk. This is also true for hybrids that are planted in a dry land or irrigation area where conventional tillage or no-till practices takes place. In these medium risk conditions, the recommended spray programme is as follows: Nativo at 1 000 mℓ/ ha applied early (4 - 6 leave stage). Apply Nativo at 1 000mℓ/ ha or Zantara at 1 200 mℓ / ha as a follow-up application 3 - 4 weeks after first application.

High disease risk conditions include the planting of a susceptible hybrid, climatic conditions that are conducive to disease development, irrigation or high rainfall areas and predominantly no-till practices. In these conditions the following spray programme is recommended: Nativo at 1 000 mℓ / ha applied early (4 - 6 leave stage). Apply Nativo at 1 000 mℓ / ha or Zantara at 1 200 mℓ / ha as a follow-up application 3 - 4 weeks after the first application. Apply Nativo at 1 000 mℓ / ha or Zantara at 1 200 mℓ/ ha as a follow-up application 3 - 4 weeks after the second application (keep to a maximum of two applications per season per respective fungicide). If symptoms re-appear and a fourth application is required, apply Zantara at 1 200 mℓ / ha as a follow-up application 3 - 4 weeks after third application (keep to a maximum of two applications per season per respective fungicide).
